- Identify Audience: Understand who the users are (e.g., students, educators, or professionals) to tailor the design and content.
- Content Strategy: Plan the types of content you’ll need, such as images, prices, educational materials, videos, etc.
- Choose a Hosting Plan: Based on your site’s expected traffic and resource needs.
- Choose a Domain name: Based on the business brand and availability of the name.
- Choose a design: Research on other websites under your brand to get ideas for the design.
2. WordPress Setup
- Install WordPress: We shall learn how to install wordpress on a web host’s control panel such as plesk.
- Select a Theme: We shall look at Hello Elementor which works hand in hand with Elementor website builder plugin.
- Install Essential Plugins: We shall be looking at plugins for building the website, security, forms such as Elementor, WP Cerber, WP Forms, etc.
3. Design and Development
- Customize Your Theme: We shall adjust colors, fonts, and layout to match our planned branding.
- Create Essential Pages: Design pages such as Home, About, Contact and any other relevant pages according to the designs from the templates chosen in the plan and strategy.
- Develop a Navigation Structure: We shall create the header and footer templates, and the main menu to aid us with navigation around the website.
4. Testing responsiveness, SEO and Security
- SEO: Implement SEO best practices to help users find your site through search engines.
- Security: Implement security measures, including regular backups, security, and SSL plugins.
- Responsiveness: Test site on various devices to ensure it looks and functions well on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
5. Launch
- Go Live: Announce your launch through email, social media, and other channels.
- Draw traffic: Link your content to your social media to draw traffic to your site.
